BNED COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Preparedness
In response to the ongoing spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), BNED has taken several steps to protect the health and safety of our employees and customers, and support our students, faculty and the educational institutions we serve. We are closely monitoring the continuing developments and following the guidance of the World Health Organization, Center for Disease Control (CDC) and local health authorities.
Based on this guidance, we put in place the following precautionary measures across our store footprint and operations:
- We have been, and continue to be, proactive in our approach to keep our stores clean. We have increased cleaning and sanitizing within our stores to help prevent the spread of all germs.
- We continue to encourage employees to wash their hands regularly and thoroughly with soap.
- We are temporarily pausing all personal cup and dine-in plates and silverware at stores with cafes. We will still honor the discount for any customer that offers a personal cup. We are also temporarily pausing active sampling to customers.
- We have restricted all business travel for employees.
We remain in close contact with our campus partners to ensure we are supporting their needs. As is standard, our stores will follow any protocols set by the campus. In the event that any of our affiliated campuses shut down, the respective bookstore will shut down as well. Otherwise, we will remain fully operational, serving our customers both in-store and online.
At BNED, we pride ourselves on acting as a complete support system for the educational community. We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and remain committed to doing all we can to support and protect our customers and employees as we all navigate these evolving circumstances.
